Review: Two Faced Lip Injection Color Bomb Moisture Plumping Lip Tint! in Never Enough Nude

Hey gorgeous globs!

Today I'm going to review the Two Faced Lip Injections Moisture Plumping Lip Tint. As mentioned in my last post reviewing the Maybelline Vivid Lipsticks, unfortunately, I have not been blessed with large beautiful lips. So when I saw some youtube beauty gurus using this lip injection to plump their lips, I was SO excited! I ran out to Sephora immediately and picked one up! I loved the fact that they are cute chubby pencils which helps for controlled easy application.

I picked up the nude color Never Enough Nude as I thought it would be quite versatile. It is a pale pinky nude and I could wear it under any lipstick to get plumper lips. However, when I tried these lip injections, I was in for a surprise...a very painful one. I felt a strong tingling and burning sensation on my lips and the skin around them. I'm not sure if my reaction to this plumping was because I was specifically allergic to an ingredient in this lip tint or if its really this painful for everyone. Most reviewers mentioned a 'slight tingling sensation' and piled the product on without any adverse reaction. However, for me, the sensation was extremely painful and uncomfortable and lasted for a a good few minutes. They have a sweet fruity scent which is neither pleasant nor too overwhelming.

Another important tip regarding this product is to keep it AWAY from your lip line. Although some reviewers mentioned placing product on the lip line specifically to plump up the line, I found that this would irritate the skin around my lips and make it REALLY red. So red that it looked like I had a rash around my entire mouth. So for my next trial, I placed it mostly in the inner parts of my lips and rubbed them together to spread the product a bit closer to my lip line. There was still a very visible red line around the outside of my lips from the irritated skin there, although I did notice my lips were a bit plumper.

However, I don't think the plumping effect was good enough to compensate for the uncomfortable and painful sensation that comes along with wearing this lip product. Additionally, if I ever wore this in public, I would have to pile on concealer all around my lips to prevent the red irritated skin from showing and making me look like I have some rash going on.

I would say, try this product BEFORE you buy it and let it sit for atleast 10-15 minutes to see whether you have an adverse reaction to it or not. But if I based this review on my personal experience, I would say give this product a miss. It is just not worth the money or the pain! Have a look at the pictures below to see if the results are good enough for you (Sorry about the slight blurriness, I am still learning how to use my new camera)

Maybelline Vivids Review - 6 Colours

Hi globs (Glam obsessions readers :P), it has been a while since our last post! But we're back and are making regular posting our (early) new year's resolution!!

Now, let's get down to some makeup business. Despite having small lips, I would definitely consider myself a lips gal. I love collecting (read: hoarding) a million lippies: lipsticks, balms, stains, glosses, lacquers, creams, butters etc. You name it, chances are I probably have atleast 20 of each category.

This is why when I heard the beauty community obsessing over the vivds collection from maybelline in the Color Sensational line, I knew I HAD to try them right away. Granted, these came out slightly later in the Middle East as opposed to US or UK, but it was worth the wait. I picked mine up from LifeStyle and Boots, although you could also find them at any supermarket/pharmacy that carries the Maybelline brand.

In a nutshell:
I love the packaging of these lipsticks in their sleek silver and bright orange casing. They also have a sweet pleasant scent to them which to me smells a bit vanilla-y. They are really opague (full coverage in one/two swipes) and super creamy. This makes them easy to apply and they also have a glossy look/finish. Their creaminess does result in two things: 1) Your lipstick can transfer on your teeth unless you clean out the inside of you lips by inserting your thumb into your mouth and pulling it out (I know this is weird but it works! Trust me!) 2) It is not the most long lasting lipstick. But since these lipsticks are SO highly pigmented, they definitely stain your lips and even after they wear off, your lips will have some color on them which is GREAT! They also feel really moisturizing and comfortable on the lips, and since these are drugstore/highstreet products, they are extremely affordable and a bargain considering their high quality!

Shades tried:
I have bought 6 of the colors.
·         Pink pop – A pale blue based pink. This color is personally not for me as it really does no favour for my yellow complexion. It looks way too light and makes me look slightly dead. Lighter skin tones will be more able to pull this shade off.
·         Fushia flash – Hot pink fushia with blue undertones. This shade is colourful and bold and looks very girly and fun. If you love pink lips and want to make a statement, this is the perfect shade for you!
·         Shocking Coral – A pinky coral. This color is absolutely beautiful and is definitely my favourite.
·         Vibrant Mandarin – A reddy orange. This color is really stunning and more wearable than a true orange lipstick.
·         Vivid Rose – A darker bright pink with more red undertones as opposed to fushia flash. This lipsticks packs a serious punch!
·         Neon red – A bright orange red that’s darker than Vibrant Mandarin.

Since pictures speak a thousand words, have a look at my lip swatches below to see how these lipsticks look on the lips. (Warning: These lipsticks are MUCH brighter in person than they appear on camera. They are definitely statement lipsticks and not suitable for everyday natural looks!)

P.s apologies for the sloppy application!
